So Many 737s!

The 737 tails are ready! Following on my BAC 1-11, Fokker F.28, and DC-9 tail panel collections, I've drawn and cut/engraved 15 new designs featuring the tall and slender 737-200. Entering airline service in 1968, the 737-200 was as much as three years behind competing short-haul jets like the 1-11 and DC-9, but Boeing made up for lost time by selling 1,095 of the -200 model, plus more than 9,000 more of the progressively more capable variants that have followed since the 737-300 in 1984, and which continue in production today as the 737 Max family. These 737 tail panels are...
Welcome Dutch Jets!

The Airline Time Machine airliner tail panel collection keeps growing, with four new Fokker F.28 Fellowship tail designs added today! The F.28 was Fokker's effort to build upon the success of their F.27 Friendship turboprop airliner, with a sales focus on smaller airlines operating from airports with only modest facilities and runway lengths. Compared to competitor offerings (the BAC 1-11, DC-9, and 737), the F.28 had lower passenger capacity, greater abilities for short field operations, and little in the way of a ground equipment requirement. The jet's operating economics were enhanced by having a single cabin door with integral airstair,...
The First Short-haul Jetliner

New in the Airline Time Machine collection - British Aircraft Corp. BAC 1-11 tails for a diverse collection of airlines: Mohawk Airlines, Nordair, Florida Express, Cascade Airways, Pacific Express, Aloha Airlines, Britt Airways, and Air Illinois! The 1-11 entered airline service in 1965, as the first jetliner optimized for short-haul flying, replacing smaller, slower turboprop and piston airliners flying to small and medium-sized cities. For most of those markets, the 727-100 was too big, the Aerospatiale Caravelle wasn't well-suited to short flights, and the competing Douglas DC-9 and Boeing 737 were still in the future. Check 'em out, enjoy the stories of...
A Tale of Tails for the New Year!

A new year means new products, and our first launch for 2022 is a collection of classic airliner "tail panels" cut and engraved from solid maple. Designed for display on a desk or book shelf, these are an artistic interpretation of the aircraft's vertical tail, featuring the markings of vintage airlines. Depending on the aircraft, these are between 2.75 to 3.5 inches tall, with widths between 4.5 to nearly 7 inches. Each tail panel comes with a coordinating base stand, with the vertical tail fitting into the base using a tab-and-slot design. The collection is available now with two models: the British...
