Mohawk Airlines Acrylic Snowflake 2-Piece Ornament Set

This 2-piece ornament set recalls Mohawk Airlines of Utica, New York. Beginning service in the northeast U.S. in 1946 as Robinson Airways, Mohawk became one of the largest U.S. local service airlines by passenger volume.

Mohawk operated the DC-3, Martin 404, and Convair 240/440 models, then was an early customer for the British Aircraft Corp. 1-11 jet, and was launch customer for the Fairchild-Hiller FH-227 turboprop airliner. Mohawk was acquired by Allegheny Airlines of Washington, D.C. in 1972.

The 2-piece set includes one each of the 1960s-era "Air Chief" logo, and the 1970s-era "Buckskin and Orange" logo.

An artistic interpretation of the airline's brand is laser-engraved with exacting detail onto a cut acrylic snowflake crystal ornament, measuring approximately 3.4 inches (8.6 cm) between opposite points, with a material thickness of 1/8 inch. For best display clarity, the design is engraved as a reversed mirror image on one side of the ornament, so that it can be viewed with proper alignment on the opposite side.
