Northeast Airlines (US) Acrylic Snowflake Ornament
This ornament recalls Northeast Airlines of Boston, that began as Boston-Maine Airways in the early 1930s. Initially a railroad subsidiary, but with irregular schedules due to winter weather conditions, the airline was re-named Northeast Airlines in 1940, as larger aircraft and wartime government contracts brought stability to the operation, that was expanded to Florida vacation destinations in 1956.
Northeast continued to operate an unusual network through the 1960s with short-haul New England prop-jet routes alongside jet services between Washington, New York, and Boston, plus long-haul services from the northeast to the Midwest, Florida and the Caribbean, and from Miami to Los Angeles. After several years of ownership changes and financial troubles, Northeast was acquired by Delta Air lInes in 1972.
An artistic interpretation of the airline's brand is laser-engraved with exacting detail onto a cut acrylic snowflake crystal ornament, measuring approximately 3.4 inches (8.6 cm) between opposite points, with a material thickness of 1/8 inch. For best display clarity, the design is engraved as a reversed mirror image on one side of the ornament, so that it can be viewed with proper alignment on the opposite side.
As a gift, or as a treat for yourself, these are a perfect way to add your favorite airlines of the past to your today! Use them to decorate for the holidays, or to brighten up your desk, office, or special area of your home or work space all year long.
