Compass Airlines Acrylic Snowflake Ornament
This ornament recalls Compass Airlines, formed in 2006 when Northwest Airlines acquired the operating certificate of the recently closed down Independence Air. Launching service in 2007 under the NWA Airlink brand, Compass built a large fleet of Embraer 170/175 jets, and moved with Northwest into the Delta Air Lines family when Northwest was acquired by Delta in 2008.
Delta sold Compass to Trans States Holdings in 2010, though the airline continued to operate a large Delta Connection network. Further expansion came in 2015 when Compass began a sub-operation with 20 Embraer 175s for American Airlines. Delta's decision to rationalize its regional airline partner flying during 2019 resulted in the Delta/Compass contract being cancelled, and Compass was closed down in April 2020.
An artistic interpretation of the airline's brand is laser-engraved with exacting detail onto a cut acrylic snowflake crystal ornament, measuring approximately 3.4 inches (8.6 cm) between opposite points, with a material thickness of 1/8 inch. For best display clarity, the design is engraved as a reversed mirror image on one side of the ornament, so that it can be viewed with proper alignment on the opposite side.
As a gift, or as a treat for yourself, these are a perfect way to add your favorite airlines of the past to your today! Use them to decorate for the holidays, or to brighten up your desk, office, or special area of your home or work space all year long.
