Texas International Airlines Acrylic Snowflake Ornament

This ornament recalls Texas International Airlines that traced its history to 1944 and was known until 1969 as Trans-Texas Airways. The airline expanded from its Texas and southwest U.S. and Mexico routes to become a large McDonnell Douglas DC-9 operator, with service to California, Las Vegas, the upper Midwest U.S. and the U.S> east coast. In 1980 the airline became the core of the Texas Air Corp., a holding company that acquired Continental Airlines in 1982 and combined Continental into Texas International, but under the Continental brand.

An artistic interpretation of the airline's brand is laser-engraved with exacting detail onto a cut acrylic snowflake crystal ornament, measuring approximately 3.4 inches (8.6 cm) between opposite points, with a material thickness of 1/8 inch. For best display clarity, the design is engraved as a reversed mirror image on one side of the ornament, so that it can be viewed with proper alignment on the opposite side.
